Ride on Friday November 23, 2018
Undeterred by a somewhat ominous weather forecast, five hardy souls contained within gradually deteriorating bodies, turned out for another adventure.
The start from Thomastown was cold, however our spirits were soon warmed by the subtle beauty of the freeway and the industrial estate. There was a head wind and some light drizzle as we rode towards Reservoir, which only served to strengthen our determination not to be defeated by the elements. You could describe it as commuting with nature.
Preston Market once again welcomed us with warm coffee, cakes, good conversation and enjoyable music. The market is a national treasure as is the musical duo who played next to us.
After our pleasant refuelling stop we made our way down St Georges Rd under very grey skies and gradually increasing showers. We made it home just before the rain started in earnest.
Even though it was cold and slightly wet it was a most enjoyable ride.
